The Secret – Poetry For Love
My love feels asleep, dreaming, waiting to be awaken,
a Fitzgerald novel that awaits the pen of the master,
written with countless words of my secret hope, desire
hidden, coming alive when I notice you pass my pages.
Like many others before me I too loved you at first sight.
As I pen my love letter you will never guess it is for you.
Have you ever looked at love and not notice it is there?
Accept for the grace of God my love remains unrequited.
There’s something deep, special, knowing I have this secret,
and will keep my readers guessing is it me or her he loves?
This hint I’ll give you, sometimes she’s hotter than the sun,
at others, she is as gentle as only a woman’s heart can be.
